Countries which are at risk of becoming destabilised because of internal or regional conflict will get more aid support and money from the Netherlands in the future, says development aid minister Bert Koenders.

This a break with current policy in which good governance is the main criterium for giving aid. But Koenders told MPs such a policy meant that many countries most in need of aid were not getting help.
