Chinese should be in curriculum, say MPs
Secondary school pupils should be given the choice of studying Chinese from the next school year, according to a majority of MPs.
Christian Democrats, Labour and Socialist MPs say pupils should learn about the language and culture of the country that promises to become the world’s largest economy by 2040, reports the Volkskrant.
The right-wing Liberals are not in favour of the plan. ‘Let’s get the basic education right first’, MP Charlie Aptroot told the paper.
