Anne Frank’s story to get BBC series

The Diary of Anne Frank is to be produced as a five-part tv series by the BBC for screening on BBC1 early next year, according to the broadcaster’s website on Tuesday.

The BBC says the drama, which shows the Frank family hiding from the nazis during World War II, will ‘bring Anne alive to viewers of all generations’.
The young actress Ellie Kendrick will play the title role with Iain Glen and Tamsin Greig (from The Green Wing) as her parents Otto and Edith.
