Anne Frank tree gets reprieve

Amsterdam city council has decided not yet to chop down the famous horse chestnut tree which Anne Frank wrote about in her diaries, giving objectors time to come up with a rescue plan.


The tree, which Anne could see from her wartime refugee window, has a serious honey fungus infestation.
