Amsterdam pays disputed tax bill

Amsterdam city council has agreed to pay a tax bill totalling €40,000 for the 100 or so residents of Amsterdam district of Bos en Lommer who were forced to move out of their new homes because of severe structural faults.


The tax office demanded tax on the €20 a day compensation that people were paid by the council for being put out of their homes for several months.
