Amateur football clubs should be excluded from the Dutch cup, and a group section introduced to make upsets less likely, says Ajax director Maarten Fontein.

Fontein wants the changes because from 2009, European football body UEFA is considering giving national cup winners a place in the Champions’ League competition alongside the premier division title holders.
PSV Eindhoven and Alkmaar’s AZ are already out of the cup, and Ajax only just managed to beat amateur team Kozakken Boys.
