Temp agencies fined over €1m

Thirty-three temporary employment agencies have so far been fined a total of over €1m for breaking employment laws, said the organisation charged with monitoring the sector, SNCU, on Tuesday.

The fines range from €5,000 to €100,000. The companies broke laws on holiday pay, basic salaries and overtime or irregular working-hour supplements. The SNCU is looking into a further 400 cases.
