Supermarkets in Amsterdam and Zandvoort must put covers on their chill cabinets, the Council of State ruled in two separate judgements on Wednesday.
Local councils want the supermarkets, including Albert Heijn, Aldi, Dekamarkt, Vomar and Deen, to close their chilled produce sections to save energy. The supermarkets have now lost their appeal against the decision at the Council of State.
