Netherlands gives UN meeting religious twist

The Netherlands is to emphasise the right to freedom of religion and belief at the sixth sitting of the UN’s human rights council in Geneva next month, foreign affairs minister Maxime Verhagen told MPs on Monday evening. .


The Netherlands, which is deputy chairman of the council, is backing an EU resolution re-emphasising the right of the individual to practise religion or ideology, including the right to change his or her beliefs, without state interference
