More children monitored by social services
The number of children under the supervision of social workers in the four big Dutch cities has gone up 100% in the first six months of this year in some areas.
In Rotterdam, 152 children are being closely monitored, a rise of 50%. But in Amsterdam and
The Hague the number has doubled, social workers said.
Experts said social workers are quicker to intervene following several high profile child deaths as the result of a failure to act by social services.
