Minister will not tighten up exam standard
Education minister Ronald Plasterk says he does not intend to tighten up school leaving exams so that pupils who score ‘insufficient’ for maths, English or Dutch officially fail.
Plasterk says the measure, recommended by the education council yesterday, would lead to half of higher-level secondary school pupils failing their school-leaving certificate.
