In total 627 house sales involving homes costing more than €1m were recorded at the Kadaster land registry office by the end of July this year, compared with 871 over 2006 as a whole, the Financieele Dagblad reports on Tuesday.

The Dutch real estate agents organisation NVM estimates the Netherlands has some 35,000 homes valued at over €1m.
The most transactions were in Amsterdam (178, average value €1.5m) and Wassenaar (106, average value €1.6m), the paper said. The Hague, Bloemendaal and Zeist complete the top five.
