GPS may be used to control livestock transport
Trucks transporting livestock over long distances may have to use a GPS navigational system so that their location and the animals’ health can be monitored as from next year, agriculture minister Gerda Verburg told MPs on Wednesday.
The move follows a recent incident involving a lorry carrying Dutch pigs was stopped by police in Germany after blood was seen leaking out of it.
