Four years prison for preparing terrorist attack

Samir Azzouz was sentenced to four years imprisonment by a court in Amsterdam on Monday for preparing a terrorist attack, reports ANP news service.

The court said it was clear that Azzouz was planning an attack on government buildings. Police found bomb-making materials, gun cartridges, a silencer and bullet-free vest when they raided his home a few years ago.
Today’s case was ordered by the High Court in February after a court in The Hague found Azzouz not guilty on the same charge in 2005. The High Court called for a re-examination of the case following an appeal by the justice department.
Azzouz is currently serving an eight year jail sentence on different terrorist charges.
