Dutch architect Erick van Egeraat has won a commission to design an artificial island close to the Russian city of Sochi where the 2014 Winter Olympics will be held, the Telegraaf reports.

The $6bn island, in the form of a map of Russia, is being built to attract the growing number of Russian billionaires, the paper says.
