‘Tribunal for ex Lebanese PM in Holland’

A special tribunal to try those suspected of the murder of the former prime minister of Lebanon Rafik al-Hariri should be located in the Netherlands, said Dutch foreign affairs minister Maxime Verhagen during a radio interview on Thursday morning.

The United Nations has asked the Netherlands whether it would be prepared to house the special tribunal and prime minister Jan Peter Balkenende will shortly give its approval, said Verhagen.
In May, a spokesman for the foreign affairs ministry said that the Netherlands was not keen on housing another temporary tribunal, reports ANP news agency.
