Second bidder emerges for Univar
British private equity group BC partners is considering a counter-bid for chemicals distribution company Univar, according to today’s Financieele Dagblad.
Fund Ulysses, a subsidiary of CVC Partners, brought out a formal €53.50 bid for Univar this week.
BC Partners already owns Brenntag which claims to be world leader in chemicals distribution.
A bid of €57.20 would ‘not be unsporting’, the FT reported partner Stefan Zuschke as saying.
