Prawn price hits record
The wholesale price for prawns caught in the North Sea has reached a record high at around €5 a kilo. Prices have soared because of a shortage of prawns, believed to have been caused by the poor summer weather.
Prawns are normally auctioned for around €3 a kilo. Around 350 Dutch, German and Danish boats fish for prawns in the North sea.
