Company Blackberry is tax-free perk

Company Blackberries and other smart phones are now included on the list of corporate tax-free perks alongside ordinary mobile phones, junior finance minister Jan Kees de Jager announced on Wednesday evening.

Until now Blackberries were classified as computers meaning staff had to pay income tax on their value unless they were used for at least 90% for business purposes.
‘The minister has a Blackberry himself and knows that they are a means of communication. Users will not be in a hurry to make a spreadsheet on them,’ a spokesman for De Jager told the Financieele Dagblad.
