Armed raids on Amsterdam library and zoo

Amsterdam’s Artis zoo and the new main city library were hit by armed robbers within 12 hours of each other.

The first robbery took place during Sunday night at the recently opened Central Library where guards were tied up and blindfolded by three masked and armed men.
Then, at 9am this morning two armed men broke the window of the ticket office at Artis zoo and demanded money from staff. In both cases it is not yet clear what was stolen, police said.
