Advocaat to head Australian football team

Former Dutch national football coach Dick Advocaat is to be the new trainer of the Australian national team, according to the Australian media, reports ANP news agency on Tuesday.

The appointment of the 59-year-old Dutch trainer will not be made public until November, according to one source. Advocaat, who is currently in charge of the Russian club Zenit in St Petersburg, will take a break before starting in Australia in January.
Before moving to Russia in 2006, Advocaat was trainer of the South Korean national team in the world championships.
