Wrong man arrested, bitten by police dog

Police have apologised after arresting and injuring an innocent man in connection with the shooting of a police officer in Apeldoorn on Monday.


The man, arrested on Wednesday night in Gouda was bitten by a police dog and has been hospitalised. A police spokesman said the victim looked extremely similar to the chief suspect in the shooting.
The police officer who was shot remains seriously ill in hospital.
