Van Aartsen to lead gas pipeline project
The European Commission has appointed veteran Dutch politician and ex-minsiter Jozias van Aartsen to coordinate the new gas pipeline project between Turkey and Austria.
The aim of the pipeline is to reduce European dependence on Russia. The Commission says it chose Van Aartzen because of his extensive diplomatic experience.
