Tougher rules for telephone sales
Companies which use telephone sales will have to check if the people they are calling are on a ‘don’t call me’ register before making calls.
Junior economic affairs minister Frank Heemskerk told MPs on Thursday that the register will be introduced next year.
Some 90% of consumers are irritated by cold callers and 56% say they will put their names on a no-call listing, according to research by SEO.
