Telecom mast emissions below limit

Emissions from GSM and 3G telecommunications masts in the Netherlands are well below official limits and pose no danger to health, according to research for the economic affairs ministry published on Tuesday.

The Dutch norms are 41 to 58 volts per metre (v/m) for GSM transmitters and 61 v/m for 3G. Most locations checked by ministry scientists showed emissions of around 2 v/m. The highest recorded emission was 10 v/m, news agency ANP reported.
In 2000, the Dutch health council said that there were no health concerns associated with living next to a telecommunications mast.
