Stolen mopeds are often gone for good
Nearly 4,600 mopeds were stolen in the first six months of this year, of which only 27% are ever recovered, according to new police figures.
Car theft was down slightly, with Volkswagens the most likely to stolen followed by Audis and Opels. Daewoo owners were least likely to lose their cars.
