Reed Elsevier earnings rise 8%

Publishing group Reed Elsevier booked an 8% rise in Q2 earnings at €610m. Excluding currency effects, sales were up 6% at €3.3bn.

The company said it was sticking to its earlier forecast of full year earnings per share growth of 10%. ‘The results are healthy, our strategy is clear,’ said CEO Crispin Davies.
Following the sale of its educational publishing division Harcourt, Reed Elsevier has three divisions: Elsevier, LexisNexis and congress organiser Reed Business.
