The royal archive website has opened a small exhibition of 21 miniature portraits, including several members of the House of Orange.
The paintings, some of which are just one centimetre wide, are part of a 700 strong collection dating back to the 16th century when it was popular for members of the nobility to give miniature portraits as gifts.
