High court to rule on LaSalle Friday

The high court is set to rule on the takeover of ABN Amro subsidiary LaSalle on July 13. LaSalle is central in the takeover battle for the Dutch banking group.

ABN Amro wants to be taken over by Barclays and has agreed to sell LaSalle to Bank of America. However a consortium of three banks is also bidding for ABN Amro but wants to take over the entire group.
Earlier, the company court said the LaSalle should be put to shareholders for approval, but last month, the high court’s advocate general recommended this decision be overturned.
