A court in Arnhem has ruled that a 25-year old man who stuck up his middle finger (the Dutch equivalent to the two-fingered V-sign) at a police officer is guilty of insulting behaviour after all.


The man was initially found not guilty. He has been sentenced to three months imprisonment for making the gesture, as well as for a number of other offences including theft.
