Dutch Rail sets up own ‘police force’
ProRail announced on Tuesday that it is appointing 50 uniformed officers to police the railway lines and deal with dangerous situations and vandalism following a successful test in the south of the country. The officers have received special training and are authorised to book offenders. They are not permitted to carry firearms.
