Two Dutch cancer researchers are to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award of the European Society for Medical Oncology in Switzerland on Thursday.

Laura van ‘t Veer and René Bernards of the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek hospital in Amsterdam looked into the link between genetic profile and breast cancer treatment and have developed a model which can predict whether extra treatment is necessary to prevent cancer from returning.
The award includes a cheque for €50,000.
