Burn-out victim gets record pay-out

A 46-year-old insurance agency worker has been awarded €237,000 in damages after suffering burn-out and being unable to work.

The FNV trade union said the man was made ill by ‘unacceptably high pressure of work, too little support, an inadequate IT system and an unpleasant working atmosphere’ at Nieuwe Hollandse Lloyd in Woerden.
The deal, a record sum for a burn-out case, was reached out of court.
