Bikes beat public transport

Just over half the Dutch population is dissatisfied with public transport, according to a report published by the transport ministry on Tuesday. Some 51% said that travelling by public transport is expensive, slow and inflexible.

A large majority of 86% said they are happy with travelling by car, despite traffic jams. And slightly less, 84% , said they preferred getting around by bicycle because this is a cheap form of transport although the weather and other road users are considered drawbacks.
