Barclays considers raising ABN Amro offer

UK bank Barclays is working on an improved bid for ABN Amro bank by introducing a cash component, the Financial Times reports on Tuesday.


Monday’s bid for the Dutch group by the consortium led by Royal Bank of Scotland is a 93% cash deal, totalling €71.1bn.
In April, Barclays offered an all-share €67bn for ABN Amro but has until July 23 for a final offer.
