Over 80 drunken young teens hospitalised
At least 86 drunken young teenagers were admitted to hospital in the first half of this year, pediatrician Nico van der Lely of the Reinier de Graaf hospital in Delft told ANP on Tuesday. He says the children are around 13 years old and often drink litres of beer or alcohol.
Van der Lely warned last year that the number of children who drink too much has risen enormously and set up a registration system to track hospital admissions.
Last weekend, a 12-year-old boy was admitted to hospital in a coma after going on a drinking binge with 13-year-old friends.
