Mothers more often ‘kidnap’ their offspring

Two thirds of the 140 children taken each year by a parent to a foreign country were taken by their mothers, says the centre monitoring cross-border kidnapping involving Dutch children or parents.


Nine of the children were brought to the Netherlands, the others were taken to Turkey, Egypt, Spain, Morocco, Belgium, Germany and the US.
