Electronic patient files not before 2009
Government plans to introduce a centralised electronic system for patient records cannot be achieved in 2009 as hoped, according to research by Ernst & Young and Doxis.
A survey of 1,200 doctors, medical specialists and pharmacists shows that the health ministry has a very long way to go to reach this target, Ernst & Young said. For example, it is still not clear what information should be included in the files.
