Early dementia diagnosis betters treatment

Doctors and health service workers are being urged to look more carefully for signs of dementia after research showed some 50% of diagnoses are made too late.


According to director Gea Broekema of the Dutch Alzheimer’s association, many people miss the early signs and seek help much too late. ‘Early diagnosis means patients receive much better treatment and care,’ ANP quotes Broekema as saying.
