Deutsche Telekom to buy Orange
Deutsche Telekom has made an offer to buy the Dutch arm of mobile phone company Orange, which has two million customers in the Netherlands.
Orange, currently owned by France Telecom, had nearly 12% of the Dutch mobile market at the end of last year. Deutsche Telekom’s T-Mobile has 15% and Vodafone some 22.4%. Former state-owned KPN is market leader with just over 50%.
A number of sources suggest the sale price could be in the region of €1.3bn.
