Councillors guilty of conflict of interest
The national Labour party said today that it is considering taking action against Labour district councillors in Amsterdam Zuidoost found guilty of a conflict of interest after approving council subsidies for organisations they were involved in. Five of the seven involved in the affair are Labour councillors.
Labour chairman Ruud Koole described their behaviour as ‘completely unacceptable’ in the Parool newspaper on Friday afternoon.
According to a report published yesterday by the local authority audit office, four of the group also profited personally from their position.
