Shareholders lobby group VEB said on Wednesday it was taking legal action against ABN Amro bank for leaking price-sensitive information to the media.

The VEB says the bank, which is embroiled in a takeover battle, sent a letter with details about the Royal Bank of Scotland-led bid to a select number of journalists. On Monday, the financial sector watchdog AFM ordered the correspondence to be made public.
