The Netherlands remembers its dead
The Netherlands today remembers everyone who died in World War II at a string of ceremonies around the country. A two-minutes silence will be held at 8pm this evening.
Before the silence, Queen Beatrix, crown-prince Willem Alexander and prime minister Jan Peter Balkenende will lay wreathes at the war memorial on the Dam in central Amsterdam.
