John de Mol to buy Endemol, says FT
A consortium made up of John de Mol and Italian group Mediaset is to buy television production company Endemol, the Financial Times reports on Monday.
Quoting sources close to the talks, the paper says the consortium is to pay around €3bn for the 75% stake in Endemol owned by Spanish group Telefónica. John de Mol is one of the original founders of Endemol, which includes Big Brother among its formats.
