Dutch are heaviest smokers in Europe
The Dutch are the heaviest smokers in Europe, smoking 1,511 cigarettes a year per head of the population, says nicotine plaster maker Niquitin in research to mark World No Smoking Day.
The Belgians and British are in second and third place. Other research published this week showed the Dutch were the most successful in Europe at stopping smoking.
