Two die in fruit cooling plant

Two men have died after apparently entering an ultra-low oxygen fruit refrigeration plant in Gelderland, police said on Sunday evening.

The two men – both Polish – are thought to have entered the storage unit through a hatch in the roof in search of apples.
News agency ANP reported that the oxygen level is so low in the unit that people can only be inside for a few minutes. Both men, who were 30 and 34-years old, would have been aware of the dangers, ANP said.
