Shell reaches deal on reserves question

Shell is to pay investors outside the US a total of $352.6m to settle claims following the over-statement of its oil and gas reserves in 2004. Dutch pension funds ABP and PGGM and the investors lobby group VEB have all backed the settlement.

The company hopes to come to a similar deal with US investors who have begun a class action suit against Shell.
