Shareholders group lists pocket-fillers
Former manager of construction firm Heijmans, Ton Stuifzand, tops the list of corporate pocket-fillers compiled by shareholders’ lobby group VEB. Stuifzand walked away with a €2m golden handshake despite being found guilty of construction fraud scandal, the VEB says.
Next on the list is Klaas Wegenaar, head of IT consultancy Getronics, who got a bonus of €616,000 for meeting targets but, says VEB, these targets have been kept secret. Getronics posted a loss of €145m last year.
Third on the list is Rob van den Bergh, former boss of publisher VNU. The VEB says he mismanaged the ‘megalomanical’ takeover of IMS Health which resulted in VNU being sold to private equity firms, but still earned €5.9m on the deal.
