PSV loss opens leadership door to Ajax

Brett Holman scored two goals in three minutes to give NEC Nijmegen a 2-1 victory over league leaders PSV Eindhoven on Saturday, reopening the championship race. If Ajax beats RKC Waalwijk on Sunday by enough goals, the Amsterdam club could move into the lead.

PSV now has 68 points, Ajax 65 and AZ Alkmaar 63.
PSV captain Phillip Cocu was forced to speak to supporters after the match, who were refusing to get into the buses to take them home. ‘They were disappointed,’ Cocu told ANP. ‘Well I am disappointed as well, and that is what I told them.’
PSV coach Ronald Koeman said he had not given up hope of the title, despite having played away a wide lead. ‘Football is a strange game,’ Koeman said. ‘From now on it is Ajax who are under pressure.’
