Océ division DDS books sales drop
Copier and printer maker Océ’s most important division – Digital Document Systems – saw turnover and operating profit fall in the first quarter of this year, Océ said on Tuesday.
The DDS division, responsible for 70% of group sales, booked a drop in sales of 0.7% to €524.2m in the period January to March. Last year, the unit came under pressure from a shortage of parts and increased competition.
The company as a whole booked net profit of €12.2m in the first quarter, compared with €11.9m the previous year. Sales fell 3.3% to €729.2m.
